Documentary Short Film – December 2025

Dort, wo ich nie war is a documentary short film about sexual abuse during sleep — a crime that often remains invisible. It was important to me to tell multiple stories from different perspectives (including my own experiences, which I share in the film) and to give the protagonists space through calm, sensitive imagery. The film deliberately concludes with a clear call to action, urging viewers not to look away.

One of the biggest challenges was finding women who were willing to share their experiences. Of the 15 people who initially agreed to participate, only five ultimately appeared on camera — highlighting how much shame, fear, and uncertainty this topic carries, even within a safe and supportive environment.

It was also important to me to avoid using stock footage entirely. The sample footage featured in the film was contributed by Mila, who also shares her own story on camera. This resulted in a deeply personal and intimate film that does not seek to explain, but rather to make audiences feel — and to invite them to truly look and listen.
